Personal safety tips:

• Do not let unknown people into locked buildings or offices. 
• Always keep the door to your office locked when you are working alone.
• Do not investigate a suspicious person or noise outside by yourself.
• Keep a list of emergency numbers with you.
•  When walking, be alert and aware of your surroundings.
• Chose well-lit, heavily-traveled paths when walking at night and consider calling the Department of Public Safety
  at 617-287-7799 for a police escort when walking alone late at night.
• If you find yourself in a potentially unsafe situation or have become the victim of a crime on campus, contact UMass Boston Public Safety immediately. Call 911 from a campus phone or 617-287-1212 from
  a cell phone.

• Do not attempt to apprehend or follow a perpetrator.
• Get a good description of the individual and obtain vehicle information, if any.
