| "The security and health of all our students, faculty, staff, visitors, and neighbors remain the single highest priority of this university. I encourage you to contact my office or any members of my executive staff if you have any concerns or ideas that you wish to share with us." - Chancellor J. Keith Motley |
Our Mission
The University of Massachusetts Boston is engaged in ongoing efforts to preserve and enhance the safety of our campus community. These include the recent review and revision of our emergency operations and continuity-of-operations plans, the production of a new Emergency Response Guide, the development of protocols for identifying and assisting distressed and distressing individuals, and specialized training provided to law enforcement and other university staff in nationally-recognized critical scene incident management protocols. These and other efforts have been undertaken by members of the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, University Health Services, and the Office of Public Safety, working in collaboration with the university-wide Safety Planning Committee.
